Ecevit worked to build a paradise of freedom
Ahmet Savaşan, President of the Cyprus Health Tourism Council, published a message on the 11th anniversary of the death of Bülent Ecevit, Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey during the July 20, 1974 Peace Operation, emphasizing that Ecevit worked to establish the paradise of freedom throughout his life.
Underlining that Bülent Ecevit spent his life struggling to “establish the paradise of freedom”, Ahmet Savaşan said: “Ecevit did not remain silent in the face of great injustices, he always stood by the people and the oppressed. When everyone was silent, he did not, when everyone stopped, he did not. When everyone said “we lost”, he continued his struggle for democracy with great faith. When “Karaoğlan” was written on mountains and stones, he did not become arrogant, he did not turn from his path during the bitter days of September 12. He did not kneel in front of the powerful, he did not oppress anyone when the power was in his hands, he never deviated from the line of justice.”.
We take his way of life as an example...
Pointing out that Ecebvit was an uncompromising hero of democracy, Savaşan said, “Bülent Ecevit, a determined politician, has set an example for all of us with his ideas and discourses, and his stance in favor of the right and the people in his past state duty. His lifestyle and ideals are the most important values that we take as an example. We commemorate the late Ecevit, the important name of Turkish politics, one of the former prime ministers, the architect of the Cyprus Peace Operation, the Conqueror of Cyprus, with longing, gratitude and respect on the 11th anniversary of his death.’.
